Efficacy of a reusable total-contact cast
The efficacy of a total-contact casting (TCC) technique in everyday practice was assessed in this observational study. Seventy-nine per cent of participants achieved healing. Participants whose clinical cases and course of treatment were similar to those reported in randomised controlled trials of classic TCC achieved 100% healing in <12 weeks. The results suggest that this reusable TCC technique is no less effective than classic TCC.
